Parish Walks

COUNTRY WALKS

These walks are held once per month - usually the first Sunday starting at 10.00 from outside the St. Mary’s Church in Cleobury. The walks are publicised with posters in the town and on this website - see calendar on the Home Page.

Occasionally, our walks start from other points in the neighbouring parishes. Check this website or our posters around the town, which go up a week before each walk, for the start point of each walk.

We also  have a tradition of  an afternoon walk on New Years’ Day starting at 2pm. This walk would be shorter than most others and  we especially welcome families and others who want to walk off theNYE festivities and join us for something warming after.

The walks are an invitation for the general public to walk with an experienced leader and other CMFA friends along the footpaths in the Cleobury parish and the neighbouring parishes. They are intended to encourage individuals and families to make use of the footpath network that we help maintain and  maybe to encourage people to set off  themselves with a map or one of our walk leaflets. The walks generally are between 3 and 5 miles and are conducted at a relaxed pace with stops for views or a snack - so typically about 2 hours.

Walking boots are usually needed - except in really dry spells and you should be prepared for whatever weather Shropshire might throw at us.  The walk leader will give advice on the day about any safety issues.

No prior notice needed and no charge - just come and enjoy!
